San Francisco Streets

As transportation driver, both Cab and Limo......I have to say that the condition of the city streets is deplorable. They just suck. I'm sure residents will say the same. Try driving down Valencia st. Who is responsible ? You guessed right......Mayor Gavin Newsome !! He needs to be replaced for many other reasons, as well. Let's all start a campaign to find a new person for Mayor.

Client Resturant Critque

I listen to many clients talk about resturants where they dine. So, I decided to print their comments. Last night I heard the following from personal clients about "Foreign Film Cinema" located on Mission between 21st and 22nd st. Their initial comment was "Would not go back"
Sword fish not cooked thry and served luke warm. Steak too fatty. Too cold in the resturant. Other comments about the meal was overall poor.

As I hear other comments, I will continue to bring forth, both good and bad.

Bye Bye to my friend in Petalima

Had a wonderful conversation with D who built my Limo website as well as this Blog. She is moving back East again. I will certainly miss her being in the area. Althouigh, I hadn't seen her physically since she moved back her a few years ago. She just misses her family friends back east. I admire her for the change again. She at least took the oppoortunity to come back here to Petaluma to find out weither she really wanted to be here or not. I certainly want to wish her all the best !! Although, we will still e-mail and chat over the phone for future projects.

All the Best D !!!

Pandering for a Customer

What a busy week it had been. Lot's of conventions in town. The Cab Business had been great.
Anyhow, was low on energy so I decided to stop at the Hilton a rest for a while. Wrong. The Cab line was moving fairly quick. My turn. A middle aged executive type gets in and asks if I would assist him. Sure I said...not knowing what I was getting into. So off we went. He wanted to find a "Working Lady". I explained to him that I would take him to an area where they hangout. But it was up to him to get out of the cab and make a deal with whomever he wanted, as it was illegal for me to work with him from inside that Cab. So we went to Bush and Van Ness and to Bush and Larkin lookng for the working girls. He kept checking out the ladies as we rode around and arond and around. Somehow, no one seemed to appeal to him. So I dropped down to Polk and Post to see if any others and mixed in with the Transvesttes. Low and behold, he asked me for my opinion on one the the ladies. I explained to him that the lady was a TV. So we proceeded to go arond again. Only to be asked what I thought of another lay. Once again, I explained to him that the lady was a TV. Now, I ealized what he really wanted!! So I said, I had no problem if he wanted a TV. It's all about personal choice. Then he asked if I would be interested in "sharing". I said no, and that I was not into TV's. He kept persisiting saying we cold have FUN. Again, I said no. Then he asked why not. Bottle of Jack Daniels and all. Well, since I don't drink and drive, that was not an option. Finally, he offered to pay me 50.00 for my time with a TV in his room. Well, 50.00 would not cover my time. Thought that would get ride of the question. Now he ups the amount to 100.00. tempting. Still I had no interest with a 3-way involving a TV. Should have called 3$bill. He would have "jumped" on the idea, especially the money part. Finally,I had to say to the customer that he had to make a decision not involving me or that I would conclude the trip. Which we did back to the Hilton Hotel. He paid the fair and tipped me nicely along with his Business card in the event I changed my mind.

Just another day in the Cab!!

Hotel Healdsburg

Forgot to mention last week-ends trips to the Hotel Healdsburg in Healdsburg. Had two different Clients from Chicago hire me to take them from SFO to Hotel Healdsburg.

Had I known the first couple was coming in at 11:00 pm I would have passed, as that is a 1.5 to 2.0 hr ride up north, and in the rain and all. But that was my stupid mistake thinking it was for 11:00 AM. Well since I took the order, I felt obligated. So we stopped to get food at Carls' Jr. to eat on the way up..........since they did not eat on the plane. Kinda quiet on the way up. Then they fell asleep. Boring trip. Dropped them off arond 1am. Heading back in the pouring down rain along 101. Getting dosy, I pulled over to take a "cat-nap"

Then pick-up the second couple the following evening arond 6pm. Stopped for wine to drink on the way up. Much more chatty. Makes the trip alot shorter when we are all engaged in conversation. Really nice people.

Went back up to Hotel Healdsburg Sunday morning to take back the first couple. Managed to slip into the dining room. Free breakfast for the hotel guests. So I just acted like I was a guest. Lox and Creme chesse.my favorite. Don't think I didn't load up on the LOX.
Of course the Clients were half hour late.

Then back up on Monday to take back the second couple at 8:00 am. Of course, back in for Breakfast....love that LOX. When I called to clients to let them know I was there, he informed me he would be ready around 9am. This time, I told him he was going to be charged for the waiting time. Which I did. Then he did not add a tip.

Amazing how people have little concern for others and their time.

HAve another interesting Cab story from saturday. Pandering and all...........

The Hollywood connection

Well 3$bill was so excited this morning. His Hollywood boyfriend is coming up to SF to take him to a performance at the Curran Theater. Woopy-do !! 3$bill is so infactuated with this character from Hollywood. Amazing what turns on people.

Of course, they never use my service. Guess it's beneth them to find a local person in the Limousine Business. Probably uses one of those nationwide Companies. Too self absorbed to take a few minutes to take a local person, like myself.

Do you think an "affair" is starting to develope?

Wish 3$bill would spend as much energy creating a Blog to guide all those people with AIDS, as he does talking about "Hollywood Joe"

SF Airport Starters

These are the people who bring up the Cabs from the lot as needed. Once again, over 75 people waiting at United Terminal last night around 8pm Sunday March 12.

I've talked about this before.................why are these Starters waiting till there are lines of people before bringing up the Cabs. It's our income that depends on keeping the Cab full.....not waiting around. The Starters are totally INCOMPENDENT !! There salaries are not affected weither there are lines or not.

Oh, I noticed another "Gypsy" Limo waiting in the Limo stand at United. No Airport Permit, No TCP number. And yet SFPD traffic people just walk by not even taking notice. Speaking of not taking notice.............traffic backed up outside the Airport. And where is SFPD Traffic people?

Amazing all the Fees we all pay to the Airport and yet little supervision from the Starters and SFPD.

People update

GW is alive and well and attedning classses at CCSF. I don't know how she finds all the time. Especially after taking care of DA. Oh, he finally called me yesterday to see how I was doing and to tell me is Cab Business was getting better. Althouigh, he keeps losing his Seniors.

And then there is 3$bill. Hadn't heard from him in a while. Thought maybe he had kicked me under the Bus.....and forgot to come back and get me. But, then all of a sudden, he calls about a appointment for next week. Wow, was he "fisty"....."mouthy" and all.........Can't imagine what he'll be like Monday morning.

Check in Monday, and I'll let you know what he's been up to? No good, I'm sure.

Book writer / New York Times

Had picked up a wonderful lady from New York to take to Sausalito. She used to write for the New York Times. And has written several books. Her most recent was on the subject of ".giving" She got the idea from a 12th century philospher. And had written her book just after 9/11. She was here to speak to the heavy donors of a famous foundation in Marin. I picked her up this morning in Sausalito to take back to SFO. A wonderful down to earth person. Anyhow, she plans to call me soon when she returns to speak in Palo Alto.

By the way, she was referred to me by a long standing client who lives in SF. These two lifestyle partners are just fantastic. One works for the Foundation and the other owns pie shops in SF.

This is one of many reasons why this business is so esciting and challenging..............

Wal-Mart Stores

Just sitting in my Cab reading the New York Times. Waiting for someone to walk-up and seek my services..........not me, of course.

Then I come accross an article about Wal-Mart Stores. Here we go again. State Government getting involved with private enterprise. Just the beginning. We all have regulatory agency's that guide our businesses. But now we have the Government attempting tO to make changes in our businesses and setting new quidelines. Telling people like Wal-Mart how to run their Stores. How to pay their employess and what benefits they shall receive. THIS IS WRONG !!

If I were an employee of Wal-Mart Stores and I didn't like my salary, I would simply leave and go elswhere.

We in this country are starting to see too much Government control...Communism ! Right?

Leave Wal-Mart to run their own Business. Wal-Mart provides a great enonomic base to our country.

Keep Government out of Wal-Mart stores.

Oops. Need to get back to my own Business. And let me tell you about a writer from the New York times I had with meyesterday.
